News: Bicyclist hospitalized following hit-and-run collision in West Seattle

SEATTLE, WA – A male bicyclist was hospitalized following a hit-and-run collision with a white van in West Seattle on Saturday, reports the West Seattle Blog.

Police responded to the incident at the intersection of California Avenue Southwest and Southwest Hanford Street around 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12th. Officials said the male bicyclist was struck by a white van that fled the scene and had not been located. The injured bicyclist was then transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.Traffic Collision Investigation detectives responded to the accident scene and California St was temporarily closed to northbound traffic Saturday.

Seattle Fire Department spokesperson Kristin Tinsley stated later Saturday night that the victim is 28 years old and was stable when transported to Harborview.
