News: Bellevue motorcycle officer seriously hurt in 50-60 feet fall onto I-5 in Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — A Bellevue Police Department motorcycle officer was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after a major fall off an Interstate 5 onramp in Seattle, reports KOMO News.

Washington State Patrol officials said the incident occurred on the I-5 southbound entrance ramp from Michigan Street, at around 1:54 p.m.

According to Bellevue Police, the officer, 39, was working on Vice President Kamala Harris’ service detail during her visit when he fell about 50 to 60 feet from the onramp and onto the southbound side of I-5.

First responders rushed the officer to Harborview Medical Center. No updates on his condition have been disclosed, but officials said he was alert and conscious during transport.

No other details have been shared regarding the circumstances of the fall, and no other injuries have been reported.
