News: Authorities respond to collision on 2nd Ave in Belltown

SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle accident Wednesday evening blocked a right lane on 2nd Avenue in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

The crash happened at the intersection with Battery Street, near the Shiro’s Sushi, Marrekesh, and Buckley’s in Belltown restaurants. It was first reported by SDOT at 6:56 p.m.

Officials have not specified the circumstances behind the wreck, but the right southbound lane of 2nd Avenue was closed for over 1.5 hours.

A photo taken at the scene indicates the back passenger door of an involved vehicle had been pulled off.

By 8:39 p.m., crews had cleared the scene from the roadway and all travel lanes were reopened.

It was unclear whether anyone was seriously hurt or had to be transported to a hospital.
