News: At least 1 left injured after hit-and-run on S Jackson St in Atlantic area

SEATTLE, WA — Injuries were reported following a hit-and-run crash early Friday afternoon in Seattle’s Atlantic neighborhood, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The incident occurred at the intersection of South Jackson Street and 17th Avenue South, about two blocks southwest of Pratt Park and Spraypark. Officers with the SPD’s East Precinct were called to the scene at about 12:13 p.m.

Details remain limited, but police dispatchers described the event as a motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) that resulted in unspecified injuries to at least one person. At least one of the involved parties also fled the scene before authorities arrived, qualifying the incident as a hit-and-run.

As of this writing, the department has not released a description of the fleeing vehicle and/or suspect.
