News: At least 1 left injured after hit-and-run on 16th Ave SW in West Seattle

WEST SEATTLE, WA — Injuries were reported Wednesday afternoon following a hit-and-run collision in West Seattle’s Highland Park area, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The incident occurred in the 9200 block of 16th Avenue Southwest, near the intersection with Southwest Barton Street. Officers with the department’s Southwest Precinct were called to the scene at around 12:24 p.m.

Little information has been provided, but police dispatchers described the event as a motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) with injuries, indicating injuries to at least one person. One involved party fled the scene before authorities arrived, also qualifying the crash as a hit-and-run.

As of this writing, the SPD has not released a description of the suspect and/or fleeing vehicle.

The number of those injured, and the extent of their injuries, has not been confirmed.
