News: At least 1 left injured after hit-and-run crash near Pioneer Square

SEATTLE, WA — Injuries were reported late Wednesday morning after a hit-and-run collision in downtown Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Yesler Way and James Street, near Pioneer Square. Officers with the department’s West Precinct were called to the scene shortly before 11:00 a.m.

Few details have been made public, but dispatchers described the event as a motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) that resulted in injuries to at least one person. At least one involved party also fled the scene before authorities arrived, qualifying the incident as a hit-and-run.

At this time, the exact number of people hurt and the extent of their injuries have not been confirmed.

The SPD has not yet released a description of the fleeing vehicle and/or suspect.
