News: At least 1 left hurt after hit-and-run on Martin Luther King Jr Way S in south Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — Injuries were reported following a hit-and-run collision Friday afternoon in south Seattle’s Rainier Vista neighborhood, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The accident happened on Martin Luther King Jr. Way South at South Genesee, in an area east of Jefferson Park. Officers with the department’s South Precinct responded to the scene after receiving a call at 5:02 p.m.

Few details have been made available, but police dispatchers indicated a motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) in which at least one involved party fled the scene before authorities arrived.

At this time, the SPD has not confirmed the exact number of people hurt or the extent of their injuries.
