TUMWATER, WA – Washington State Patrol arrested a 26-year-old woman on suspicion of DUI in connection with a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on Sunday.
WSP told King5 the crash occurred on the Interstate 5 North on-ramp near the Trosper Road northbound on-ramp.
WSP trooper Kameron Watts said at least the semi-truck and SUV were involved. The events leading up to the collision remain unclear, although Watts said the impact of the crash caused the semi-truck to overturn and spill gallons of milk.
Officials said at least one or more people were injured in the crash.
WSP arrested the SUV driver, the 26-year-old woman. They said she tried to flee the scene and evade arrest. Fortunately, troopers were able to secure her and arrest her.
As of this writing, the 26-year-old woman is being charged with vehicular assault and a felony hit and run.
At the time of the reporting, WSP told drivers to expect extended closures on the Trosper Road on-ramp.
