News: Alleged DUI driver charged in Auburn crash that killed toddler

AUBURN, WA – An alleged DUI driver is facing homicide charges in connection with a crash that killed a 2-year-old girl and injured an 8-year-old child on Monday.

Auburn Police told Komo News that the single-car crash happened in the vicinity of Green River Road Southeast and 104th Avenue Southeast.

Police did not disclose the events leading to the single-car crash, but said the female driver behind the wheel was believed to have been impaired. She was uninjured, facing vehicular homicide and vehicular assault charges.

Medical helicopter personnel airlifted the two passengers, the 2-year-old girl and the 8-year-old child, to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. There, the toddler died, while the 8-year-old is recovering from unspecified injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
