News: Accident closes southbound 12th Ave S near downtown Seattle

SEATTLE, WA — Authorities were called to a collision Thursday morning on 12th Avenue South near downtown Seattle, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

The accident happened on the southbound lanes at South Weller Street, in an area south of Yesler Terrace and west of the Atlantic neighborhood. It was first reported by SDOT officials at 8:09 a.m.

At this time, it remains unclear what caused the crash or how many vehicles were involved, but the closure remained in place for about 30 minutes.

By 8:39 a.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.
