News: Accident closes section of southbound 51st Ave S in Dunlap area

SEATTLE, WA — Authorities responded to a crash Tuesday morning on 51st Avenue South in Seattle’s Dunlap neighborhood, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

The wreck took place on the southbound side of the road at South Fletcher Street. It was first recorded by SDOT at 10:08 a.m.

Very few details have been made public, but the southbound lane of 51st Avenue South was closed in the immediate aftermath.

A photo taken at the scene indicates at least two vehicles, though multiple other vehicles can be observed stopped in the area.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m., nearly an hour later, crews had cleared the accident from the roadway and all travel lanes were reopened.

Seattle Police have not confirmed any major injuries at this time.
