News: Accident closes lane on SR-18 WB near Federal Way

KING COUNTY, WA — Crews were called to replace a concrete barrier Thursday afternoon after a wreck on State Route 18 near Federal Way, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident took place on the westbound lanes just west of Weyerhaeuser Way, leaving the right lane blocked. It was first reported by WSDOT at 12:40 p.m.

No information has been shared regarding the circumstances of the crash, but a section of the concrete barrier was blocking the left lane in the aftermath.

By 1:18 p.m., the left lane was blocked as crews worked to repair the barrier. Motorists were asked to reduce speed and proceed with extra caution during the closure.

By 2:53 p.m., more than two hours after the initial closure, the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened.

No injuries have been confirmed as of this writing.
