News: Accident closes lane on I-5 SB in Seattle’s Pioneer Square

SEATTLE, WA — EMS crews responded to a crash Friday afternoon on Interstate 5 in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The collision occurred on the southbound lanes at I-90 and was first reported by WSDOT at 1:50 p.m.

Officials have not disclosed the cause of the accident or details on the vehicles involved, but EMS crews were called to the scene, indicating potential injuries.

The right lane was blocked in the immediate aftermath, but all traffic was allowed to travel in the HOV lane during the emergency response.
