News: Accident blocks two lanes on I-5 near Seattle’s SoDo area

SEATTLE, WA — Emergency crews responded to a crash Thursday morning that closed two right lanes on Interstate 5 in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The wreck took place on the southbound interstate just past I-90 and was first reported by WSDOT at 8:10 a.m.

Officials did not say what led up to the crash, but by 8:16 a.m., crews were on the scene. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes due to growing congestion in the area.

By 8:30 a.m., the scene had been cleared from the roadway and all lanes were announced reopened.
