News: Accident blocks multiple lanes on I-5 near downtown Seattle’s Central Business District

SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle collision early Monday evening closed three lanes on Interstate 5 near Central Business District in downtown Seattle, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred on the southbound lanes of I-5 just north of Union Street, near Washington State Convention Center. It was first reported by the WSDOT at 5:40 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the event or how many vehicles were involved, but the center lane and two left lanes were impacted.

Update 5:39 PM : On I-5 southbound just north of Union St there is a collision blocking the center lane and the 2 left lanes.

As of this writing, authorities have not disclosed details on the parties involved or any potential injuries.
