WHATCOM COUNTY, WA — A vehicle collision Tuesday morning closed a right lane on Interstate 5 near downtown Bellingham’s York neighborhood, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.
The crash impacted the southbound lanes just north of Lakeway Drive at milepost 253. It was first reported by WSDOT shortly after 8:30 a.m.
On I-5 SB just north of Lakeway Dr (MP 253) there is a collision blocking the right lane.

A photo captured at the scene shows a police cruiser and at least one fire truck responding to the event involving a silver SUV facing the wrong way. It was not immediately clear whether any other vehicles were involved, or whether any serious injuries were sustained.
