News: 4 left hurt, 1 arrested after pair of crashes on SR-512 near south Tacoma

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — Four people were injured, three seriously, Tuesday night in two multi-vehicle crashes near south Tacoma, according to KOMO News.

The crashes occurred on the westbound lanes of State Route 512 at Golden Given Road East. It was first reported by the Washington State Patrol at 9:54 p.m.

Officials did not say how the two crashes were related, but both incidents involved three vehicles.

Between the two events, three people suffered serious injuries, and a fourth person sustained minor injuries. All patients were transported to a local hospital.

The WSP confirmed one driver was arrested for DUI.

In the immediate aftermath, the westbound highway was completely shut down, and all traffic was re-routed onto Portland Avenue East as crews responded to the scene.
