News: 4 injured in suspected DUI crash on SR-167 near Pacific

KING COUNTY, WA — A DUI suspect was arrested Friday afternoon after a multi-injury collision on State Route 167 near Pacific, reports KOMO News.

The wreck took place on the northbound highway past Ellingson Road and was first reported by the Washington State Patrol at about 2:20 p.m.

Authorities have not released the sequence of events leading up to the crash, but a semi-truck and a pickup truck collided. Photos captured at the site show the semi at least partially overturned.

WSP troopers placed the semi driver in custody for suspected impairment. The suspect, along with the driver of the pickup and two other people, were transported to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries remains unclear at this time.

Multiple agencies were at the scene working to clear the accident, which blocked all lanes, creating a significant traffic backup. Officials warned of an extended closure.
