News: 4 dead following bus crash on WA 28 near Wenatchee

DOUGLAS COUNTY, WA – According to KIRO 7, four people died following a three-vehicle collision involving a charter bus on WA 28 near Wenatchee on Sunday.

A 17-year-old was driving west on WA 28 when they tried to pass another car and collided with an oncoming charger bus around 1:28 p.m. The collision caused the 17-year-old’s vehicle to slam into the vehicle they were trying to pass.

Following the collision, the bus went into a ditch and the two cars came to rest in the westbound lane.

First responders pronounced the 17-year-old driver and their 17-year-old passenger dead at the scene. The 66-year-old bus driver and passenger from the bus also died. The occupants of the vehicle the 17-year-old was trying to pass were not hurt in the incident.

An unknown number of people aboard the bus were hurt.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident.
