News: 3 injured in head-on crash on SR-300 near Belfair

MASON COUNTY, WA — Three people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon on State Route 300 near southwest Belfair, according to MasonWebTV.

The accident occurred near the intersection with Sand Hill Road at around 12:00 p.m.

Officials with the Washington State Patrol said a 31-year-old Bremerton man was driving a sedan westbound on SR-300 when, for reasons still being investigated, he hit an eastbound SUV.

Both the causing driver and the victim driver, a 30-year-old Gig Harbor woman, were airlifted to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center.

The passenger of the SUV, a 27-year-old Gig Harbor man, was taken by ground ambulance to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma.

Authorities said both vehicles were totaled in the accident and had to be towed from the scene.

An investigation remains ongoing, but the WSP press memo indicates charges are pending against the 31-year-old Bremerton man.
