News: 2 killed in accident on SR 9 south of Snohomish

SNOHOMISH, WA – Two people died following an accident on State Route 9 south of Snohomish on Wednesday, reports KOMO.

Troopers said 49-year-old Michele Panello turned northbound on SR-9 from 172nd Street Southeast, where his Honda Civic was struck by a pickup truck with an attached trailer that did not have enough time to stop. Both vehicles were sent into a nearby ditch.

Panello and her passenger, 28-year-old Tyler Ott of Snohomish, died as result of the crash. The pickup’s driver was not injured.

Police say they are still investigating the events that led up to the accident. We will update this blog if more information is made available.
