News: 2 killed, 2 injured in multi-vehicle crash on US-101 near Shelton

MASON COUNTY, WA — Two people died Wednesday after a multi-vehicle wreck that left two others seriously injured on U.S. Highway 101 near Shelton, reports KOMO News.

The Washington State Patrol, the Washington State Department of Transportation, and other emergency crews responded to the scene on the northbound lanes at Wallace Kneeland Boulevard, in the city’s Mountain View area.

Officials have not released details on the cause of the accident, but three vehicles were involved, and a commercial truck overturned as a result.

Two victims were pronounced deceased on the scene, and two others suffered serious injuries.

One driver who was believed to have caused the wreck was taken into custody for suspected impairment. Officials said the suspect could be charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.
