KING COUNTY, WA — Two people died Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on State Route 410 near southwest Enumclaw, reports King 5.
The fatal accident occurred on a span of SR-410 at milepost 38, just west of Mud Mountain Road, on April 28 at around 3:00 p.m.
An early investigation by the Washington State Patrol shows one driver tried to reach for a cell phone, which caused their vehicle to veer into the eastbound lane. Their vehicle then collided head-on with another vehicle.
Two occupants in the second vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene, confirmed officials.
Valley Regional Fire said the causing driver, who suffered life-threatening injuries, was rushed by airlift to Seattle’s Harboview Medical Center.
At this time, no other information has been released.
