News: 2 hurt in crash while fleeing police in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, WA – Two people were hurt in a collision while fleeing from police in a stolen pickup truck near I-5 SB and Gravelly Lake Dr SW on Tuesday morning, according to KOMO.

The driver of a white pickup truck was speeding and driving erratically when troopers attempted to pull them over. The driver sped off.

After running a red light, the driver collided with two vehicles going through an intersection. The driver hit a guardrail and went down a 50-foot embankment.

The two occupants of the pickup truck, a 23-year-old and a 25-year-old, tried to flee the area on foot but were apprehended. Crews transported them to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Troopers found out the pickup truck was stolen and had switched plates from Oregon and Washington.
