SEATTLE, WA — Two men died early Sunday after a wreck that left one other seriously injured on Interstate 5 near south Seattle, according to KOMO News.
The collision occurred in the left southbound lane near South Spokane Street, just south of the West Seattle Bridge, at about 3:30 a.m.
According to the Washington State Patrol, two vehicles were involved in an initial crash. Authorities said one driver appeared to have exited their vehicle when a Jeep approached the scene and collided one of the already-impacted vehicles. Moments later, the Jeep’s two occupants fled the scene on foot.
Officials confirmed two men, ages 34 and 38, died from their injuries at the scene. Another man, 22, was rushed to the ICU of Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
While the WSP has recovered the striking Jeep, the two fleeing suspects remain at large. If apprehended, they face charges of felony hit-and-run, and potential charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
An investigation remains ongoing.
