News: 2 critically injured in Edmonds crash involving DUI suspect

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — Two people were hospitalized early Sunday after their vehicle was rear-ended by a DUI suspect in southeast Edmonds, reports FOX 13 Seattle.

The incident occurred in the area of 220th Street and Highway 99, shortly before 4:20 a.m.

Edmonds Police said a 24-year-old man was driving at a high rate of speed when his vehicle struck the rear of another car.

Two people in the victim vehicle were rushed to a local hospital where they were listed in critical condition.

The 24-year-old man, who was not reported hurt, was taken into custody and booked into jail after being suspected of impairment.

A section of the road was shut down for an extended time during the emergency response and investigation.
