News: 11 vehicles hit by Kitsap Transit bus at Port Orchard Ford dealership

KITSAP COUNTY, WA — Property damage was reported Wednesday evening after a Kitsap Transit bus veered into the Port Orchard Ford dealership and damaged 11 vehicles, reports Kitsap Sun.

The incident occurred off Bay Street and the Bay Street pedestrian path shortly before 6:34 p.m.

According to the Port Orchard Police Department, the driver of the bus is believed to have suffered a medical emergency, causing them to drive off the roadway, onto the pedestrian path and through the dealership.

Officials confirmed no passengers were on the bus at the time of the accident.

The driver was transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries and has since been released, according to a Kitsap Transit spokesperson.

No further information has been shared at this time, but an investigation remains ongoing.
