KING COUNTY, WA — One person died early Wednesday after a car slammed into a home in southeast Auburn, leaving three other people critically injured, according to KOMO News.
The fatal wreck occurred at Wildwood Mobile Estates, located off the 4000 block of Auburn Way South. Auburn Police responded to the scene after receiving a call from the homeowner at around 2:45 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found that a driver in a 2002 GMC Denali lost control of the vehicle while traveling eastbound on the road. Authorities said the vehicle rolled several times before crashing into the home and coming to rest.
Of the four adult victims in the vehicle, multiple were ejected during the crash. One person was pronounced deceased, and the three surviving occupants suffered critical injuries. It was not immediately clear whether the decedent was the driver or a passenger.
No one in the home or in the area was reported hurt.
Auburn Way South was blocked off in both directions from Academy Drive Southeast to a little west of the Noble Court Southeast roundabout. At 7:20 a.m., several hours later, the city of Auburn reported the roadway had reopened to the public.
Auburn Police continue to investigate, but speed is believed to have played a role in the crash.
