THURSTON COUNTY, WA — One person died late Friday morning after a two-vehicle collision on State Route 510 near east Olympia, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The fatal accident happened just east of Rockcress Drive Southeast and was first reported by Trooper Robert Reyer at 10:08 a.m. Crews with the Washington State Department of Transportation – Tacoma and Lacey Fire District 3 joined WSP troopers at the scene.
Authorities did not say what led up to the crash, but two passenger cars collided head-on.
One of the drivers was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed the WSP.
A section of SR-510 was shut down in both directions during the response and investigation.
