KING COUNTY, WA — A 62-year-old Shelton woman died early last Saturday after a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 near north Tukwila, reports the Washington State Patrol.
The fatal wreck occurred on the southbound lanes just north of South Boeing Access Road, near the Duwamish area. It was first reported by the WSP on June 18 at 3:16 a.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was driving a blue 1989 Toyota Camry southbound when the car became disabled, possibly with no lights on, in the right lane. Shortly after, the Camry was hit by a green 2017 Toyota Prius heading southbound.
Officials said the driver of the Camry was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Prius, a 48-year-old Auburn man, was transported to Valley Hospital with undisclosed injuries. He was found to have been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
One other person received medical treatment at the scene, but it was unclear how they were involved.
No further details have been shared at this time, but the WSP press memo shows the Auburn man may face undisclosed charges pending an investigation.
