PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person died Friday morning after a multi-vehicle wreck on State Route 302 in northwest Gig Harbor, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The fatal accident happened near the entrance to Gateway Park and was first reported by Trooper Robert Reyer at 9:13 a.m.
Few details have been released at this time, but the WSP said two passenger cars and a moving truck were involved.
The driver of the moving truck died as a result of their injuries at the scene, confirmed officials.
It was unclear whether anyone else was injured.
A section of SR-302 was shut down in both directions as troopers responded to the scene.
Crews with Tacoma’s Washington State Department of Transportation were also at the site diverting traffic around the area. Motorists were being re-directed to 94th Avenue Northwest and 118th Avenue Northwest.
