FERNDALE, WA – A 22-year-old woman died, and another was injured following a wrong-way crash that took place on Interstate 5 near Main Street and Slater Way on Tuesday.
Kiro7 said. The crash happened around 4 p.m. on the southbound lanes. Preliminary details show that one person was driving north on the southbound lanes when they crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by the 22-year-old woman.
The 22-year-old woman died from her injuries at the scene, while her passenger was sent to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Authorities did not say if the wrong-way motorist was injured or if impairment played a role in the collision.
