SNOHOMISH & KING COUNTIES, WA – One person died, and another was injured in two separate crashes involving fallen trees in Snohomish and King Counties on Wednesday.
King5 said one collision happened near Monroe in the area of Florence Acres Road near Old Owens Road. A person was driving when a large tree fell on top of their sedan.
The sedan driver became pinned inside and was found unconscious and not breathing when Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue arrived at the scene.
Fire crews said the sedan driver died from their injuries at the scene. Based on preliminary findings, the sedan driver was not at fault, according to a public statement from Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue’s public education officer, Peter Mongillo.
No other vehicles were reported to have been involved.
On a similar note, a large tree, measured at 70 feet tall and 5 feet in diameter, fell on top of a camper near Lake Joy Road Northeast in Carnation.
One person was left in serious condition and sent to the hospital.
