SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — One person died Monday afternoon following a multi-vehicle crash that left another person injured near Snohomish, according to KOMO News.
According to local police, the fatal accident took place near the Bickford Avenue roundabout at about 4:35 p.m.
It was unclear what led up to the collision, but a commercial concrete pumping truck and two other vehicles were involved.
Crews with the Snohomish County Fire District #4 and the Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue were called to the scene where one victim was trapped. At least one of the involved cars caught on fire within minutes of the impact.
One driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. Another driver who suffered non-life-threatening injuries was transported to an area hospital.
Authorities had part of SR-9 from the Bickford roundabout to 2nd Street closed for multiple hours during the response.
An investigation by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office remains underway.
