News: 1 hospitalized after multi-car crash on I-5 near central Tukwila

KING COUNTY, WA — One person was sent to a hospital early Sunday evening after a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 5 near Tukwila’s Foster area, reports KIRO 7 Seattle.

The accident took place in the 17800 block of the northbound interstate, just before Exit 156 to State Route 599. Tukwila Fire crews and Washington State Patrol troopers responded to the scene shortly before 5:00 p.m.

It was unclear what caused the crash, but one patient was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.

Three northbound lanes were closed during the emergency response and investigation. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.

As of this writing, officials have not released further details.
