News: 1 hospitalized after 5-car wreck with extrication in Mercer Island 

MERCER ISLAND, WA – One person was extricated from their vehicle and then transported to a hospital after a five-car wreck that took place on I-90 East on Wednesday.

Kiro7 said the crash occurred around 6 a.m. and entrapped one person inside their vehicle. Seattle fire crews took a little over an hour to extricate the person from their vehicle. Once the extrication was completed, ambulance crews transported the person to a hospital. As of this writing, they appear to be in stable condition.

At the time of the reporting, the Washington State Department of Transportation told commuters to expect delays as crews worked to clean up the scene.

The exact cause of the crash has not been reported.
