SEATTLE, WA — Firefighters had to rescue one person early Saturday after a crash involving multiple vehicles on the West Seattle Bridge, according to West Seattle Blog.
The accident happened on the east end of the eastbound bridge and was first reported by WSB at 3:47 a.m.
Details remain limited at this time, but dispatchers said up to three vehicles were impacted. Firefighters were called to the scene to perform a rescue extrication for one person trapped in the wreckage of a vehicle.
It was not immediately clear how many people were injured.
WSB reported a large emergency response in the area, with the eastbound lanes completely shut down. Motorists attempting to get onto Interstate 5 were advised to detour through the Georgetown area.
Shortly after 5:00 a.m., crews had cleared out of the roadway and all eastbound lanes were reopened to the public.
