News: 1 dead after driver plummets onto I-5 from WA 599

TUKWILA, WA – A person lost their life when a driver fell from WA 599 onto I-5 NB Friday, according to KING 5.

A person was erratically driving a black SUV north on WA 599 at around 10:15 when they hit a guardrail on the right shoulder. The driver then crossed all lanes and went over a barrier, plummeting 25 feet onto I-5.

One person was thrown from the SUV before the SUV went off the ramp. They fled the scene but were apprehended. Authorities charged them for hit-and-run.

A 26-year-old man was thrown from the SUV when it fell onto I-5. They died.

A third person from the SUV was hurt.

The driver of a blue Subaru hit the SUV on I-5. A gray Tesla driver stopped to avoid hitting the Subaru and was struck in the rear by a Toyota 4Runner. The $Runner was hit in the side by a white Acura.

First responders transported the Subaru driver to an area hospital.
