EVERETT, WA – One man was killed and another was injured when their vehicle slammed into a building in Everett early Saturday morning, Fox 13 Seattle reports. The vehicle’s driver was apparently attempting to flee a DUI stop.
The outlet reports that the collision took place at about 2:30 a.m. on Rucker Avenue.
Police say they attempted to stop a red pickup truck on suspicion that the driver was intoxicated. Instead, the driver sped off before slamming into a building just south of 44th Street, across the road from Totem Family Dining.
One of the vehicle’s two male occupants died at the scene. The other was taken to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate the fatal incident.
