Injuries reported following DUI crash on State Route 161

TACOMA, WA – One woman was seriously injured after being struck by a suspected impaired driver along SR-161 last Wednesday, November 11th.

According to the official Twitter page of the WSP, the collision occurred along SR-161 near the exit to Webster Road.

Troopers say the unidentified 58-year-old man from Eatonville collided with another vehicle before attempting to flee on foot.

A female passenger in the second vehicle sustained a broken leg as a result of the crash. The man responsible was taken into custody and has been charged with vehicular assault.
