News: Family of Four Struck by Driver Fleeing Police in Puyallup

PUYALLUP, WA – A family of four was struck at a 31st Avenue SW intersection by a driver fleeing the police on Sunday morning, FOX 13 Seattle reports.

Puyallup Police attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle around 10 am when the driver fled. Officers did not attempt to chase the fleeing suspect.

Minutes later, police received calls about a collision at the intersection of 31st Avenue SW and State Route 512. The fleeing driver allegedly ran a red light and collided with a car attempting a legal left turn. That car contained a family of four.

A 4-year-old child was hospitalized in critical condition. The fleeing driver, a 21-year-old from Graham, was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
