TACOMA, WA – A two-vehicle collision sent one car crashing into a Tacoma home Friday morning, claiming one person’s life and leaving another hospitalized, according to My Northwest.

The fatal incident unfolded at the corner of South Alaska Street and South 38th Street, in the city’s Lincoln International District. Tacoma police and first responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 5:00 a.m.

An early investigation indicates that one vehicle was waiting at a red light when, for reasons still unclear, it was struck from the back by another vehicle. The impact caused the first vehicle to slam into a nearby home. While no one in the residence was reported hurt, an occupant of the vehicle was died.

One person in the other vehicle was rushed to an area hospital for unspecified injuries.

An investigation into the circumstances of the event remains in progress. Tacoma Police are asking anyone with information to reach out to the department.
