MASON COUNTY, WA – A man was sentenced to prison for a fatal DWI crash that claimed the life of a 6-year-old girl on Northcliff Rd on July 10, 2022, according to KING 5.
Matthew Galvin, 40, was driving while impaired when he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a vehicle operated by Akasha Garner. Her three children were in the vehicle.
Garner and two of her children suffered life-threatening injuries. Her 6-year-old girl died in the collision.
Authorities determined Galvin had a BAC twice the legal limit.
Galvin pleaded guilty to one count of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault.
A judge sentenced Galvin to 21 years in prison.
