News: Man fatally collides with another vehicle while eluding police near Beverly Park

BURIEN, WA – A woman died after her vehicle was struck by a driver fleeing from police near WA 509 and S 128th St on Saturday, according to KING 5.

A 26-year-old man was driving a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee when an officer tried to pull him over for a felony warrant. The driver refused to pull over and went onto WA 509 around 11:30 p.m. The officer did not chase after the suspect.

The 26-year-old man was heading north on WA 509 with two 16-year-old passengers when he collided with a 2011 Toyota 4Runner occupied by three people. The collision sent the Toyota crashing into a tree on the side of the road.

A passenger from the Toyota, Cordelia Ann Chen-Gilchrist, 53, died in the wreck. The 58-year-old male driver and an 18-year-old female passenger were not hurt in the wreck.

Officers found a gun, a loaded magazine, and a powdery white drug inside the Jeep. The 26-year-old driver failed a field sobriety test.

Authorities arrested the 26-year-old driver. He is being held on a $750,000 bond.
