TACOMA, WA – According to KOMO, a suspected impaired driver hit a car and pushed it into a man changing a tire on I-5 SB near S 84th St on Monday.
The 47-year-old male victim was on the shoulder and was changing a tire when the female suspect slammed into the victim’s vehicle, pushing it into the victim around 12:45 a.m.
First responders transported the 47-year-old man and his passenger, a 48-year-old woman, to area hospitals.
Authorities believe the suspect was impaired. She was transported to the hospital. She may be charged with DUI and vehicular assault.
Crews shut down the area for around five hours following the collision to process the scene.
