TACOMA, WA – According to KIRO 7, a passenger was hospitalized after a driver went airborne and crashed into a yard near S Sheridan Ave and S 39th St on Dec. 12.
At around midnight, the driver slammed through a fence and hit a transformer, knocking out power to two homes and a Safeway across the street.
Following the wreck, the driver fled the scene on foot.
First responders transported the passenger to an area hospital. Their current condition is unknown.
Authorities may charge the driver with vehicular assault and hit-and-run if they are located.
