News: Elderly woman dies following 2-vehicle collision on WA 525 in Freeland

FREELAND, WA – An 85-year-old woman died following a two-vehicle crash on WA-525 near E Bush Point Rd on Nov. 8, according to KOMO.

Maria Kelly, 85, was driving a 1998 Toyota Camry when she was trying to cross WA 525 and was hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV around 1 p.m.

Kelly died in the crash. The 37-year-old woman and 16-year-old boy in the Tahoe were not hurt in the collision.

Emergency crews shut down the area for three hours to process the scene.

It is unclear if impairment was a factor in the crash.

The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident.
