ARLINGTON, WA – The Washington State Patrol is investigating a fatal three-vehicle collision that occurred on State Rte 530 NE near Jim Creek Rd on Friday, according to KING 5.
The driver of a red Ford F150 pickup truck was speeding when they collided with the rear of a Chevy pickup truck around 7:14 p.m.
The collision pushed the Chevy off the road and into a ditch, hurting both the 20-year-old driver and 20-year-old passenger.
The Ford rolled over into oncoming traffic, and they struck a Ford Escape SUV head-on. The 27-year-old driver of the SUV was hurt in the collision.
First responders pronounced the Ford driver dead at the scene.
Officials have not released the victim’s name.
Troopers believe speed was the cause of the collision. It is unclear if impairment played a role.
Crews had the roadway cleared and reopened at 12:26 a.m.
