KENNEWICK, WA – A wrong-way driver hit an ambulance on N Steptoe St between W Gage Blvd and Center Pkwy on Monday, according to KIRO 7.
A person driving a sedan reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and went into oncoming traffic, where it collided head-on with an AMR ambulance around 6 a.m.
Rescue crews transported the sedan driver and the paramedics from the ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities shut down the area to investigate the incident. The area was reopened around 7:20 a.m.
