MAPLE VALLEY, WA – Authorities have arrested a man for a hit-and-run collision that injured two pedestrians at SE Kent Kangley Rd and WA 169 on Sept. 12, according to FOX 13.
A grandmother, mother, and her baby were crossing the street around 4 p.m. Stephen Michael Loudiana, 31, allegedly waited until the victims were in front of his vehicle and then ran them over.
Paramedics transported the mother and grandmother to an area hospital in serious condition. The baby was not hurt in the collision.
Deputies located Loudiana near Cedar River Pipeline Rd and arrested him. He is charged with two counts of vehicular assault, two counts of reckless driving, and hit-and-run injury.
Loudiana is being held in jail on $250,000 bail.
The Washington State Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations believes the incident was a hate crime and wants the Maple Valley Police Department to investigate it as such.
It is unclear if Loudiana will face hate crime charges.
